Description

The black links of the chain are in exciting contrast to the pure white of the porcelain. The platinum refinement of the design lends the "Catene Nero" dinnerware an opulent character.

The "Catene Nero" design is inspired by a draft by Gio Ponti for Richard Ginori dating back to 1926. In the late 20s his strict-looking designs sparked a minor revolution. His geometrical arrangements broke with the very playful conventions which dominated the fashion in porcelain at that time.

Gio Ponti was for many years the chief designer for the Italian porcelain manufacturer Richard Ginori from Florence. Aficionados of the brand particularly appreciate the various and sometimes very extravagant designs of the different Richard Ginori collections. Even today every individual item is produced by hand in Italy by true masters of their craft.
